Richard Bestel

Student Minister

Richard is a student at Moore Theological College and joined St Mark’s as a Student Minister in February 2026. Previously, he was the Children’s Worker at St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford. He enjoys exercising, a good cup of tea, and loves getting to know people.

Before working in full-time ministry, he studied a BSc in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and a Master of Management (Finance), both at the University of Melbourne. After this, he worked at the Australian Government Department of the Treasury in Canberra.

He considers it a great privilege to walk alongside people as they get to know the Lord Jesus Christ and all that he has done for us
