Luke Sweeting

5:30pm Music Director

Luke Sweeting joined St Mark’s in 2026 as Music Director for the 5:30pm service. He is passionate about helping people use their God‑given gifts so the church can sing, respond joyfully to God, and encourage one another in the gospel.

A trained jazz pianist and composer, Luke has previously served as Music Director at Summer Hill Church and Scots Church Sydney. Under his production alias Lo! Behold! Projects, he leads Majesty Rising, a 12‑piece soul‑gospel band that toured NSW in 2026 and has upcoming releases. He also curates The Forgotten Hymns, a revival project bringing rich, centuries‑old gospel poetry to life in contemporary arrangements.

Luke’s jazz work (Luke Sweeting Music) includes numerous recordings as both leader and sideman, particularly with Antipodes Jazz Band and the Grey Wing Trio. He holds a Master of Jazz Piano Performance and a Graduate Diploma of Divinity.

Luke is excited to serve, encourage, and grow with the St Mark’s community.
